Nova Scotia Nominee Program (NSNP) – Scotia PNP
The Nova Scotia Nominee Program (NSNP) allows the Province of Nova Scotia to nominate skilled and experienced individuals who want to immigrate and settle in the province. This program aims to attract talented workers, entrepreneurs, and graduates who can contribute to Nova Scotia’s economic growth and community development.
NSNP Streams:
NSNP offers five main streams to accommodate different types of applicants:
1. Nova Scotia Demand: Express Entry Stream
- For: Skilled individuals without a job offer but with experience in in-demand occupations.
- Requirements:
- Express Entry profile
- In-demand occupation experience
- CLB 7+
- Proof of education/work experience
- Intent to settle in Nova Scotia
2. Nova Scotia Experience: Express Entry Stream
- For: Skilled workers who have worked in Nova Scotia for at least one year.
- Requirements:
- 12 months full-time local work experience
- Current employment with a Nova Scotia employer
- Express Entry profile
- Intent to settle in Nova Scotia
3. Skilled Worker Stream
- For: Applicants with a job offer from a Nova Scotia employer.
- Requirements:
- Full-time, permanent job offer
- Relevant education/work experience/licensing
- Language proficiency
- Ability to support self and family
4. Entrepreneur Stream
- For: Applicants wanting to start or buy a business in Nova Scotia.
- Requirements:
- 3+ years business/management experience
- Sufficient investment funds
- Detailed business plan
- Active business management in Nova Scotia
- Intent to settle in Nova Scotia
5. International Graduate Entrepreneur Stream
- For: International graduates from Nova Scotia institutions who wish to operate a business.
- Requirements:
- At least 2 years of full-time study in Nova Scotia
- Graduation within the last 2 years
- Business plan and sufficient funds
- Intent to settle in Nova Scotia
Processing Time
A simple and relatively faster application process has been designed for Nova Scotia PNP.
- Average processing time: 3-6 months, depending on the stream and completeness of the application.
- Federal PR processing after provincial nomination varies and may take an additional 6-12 months.
